Proverbs path, Real Seeing

Don’t inherit the wind

Inherit the Wind

Have you ever thought about what you might inherit by your actions?

I have been studying through Proverbs and came to chapter 11 and verses 29-30:

Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.  – Proverbs 11:29-30

Honestly, this was convicting to me. Why? Because I have troubled my household plenty. From poor planning to flat-out sin, I have troubled my own household…and it leads nowhere. You want an absolutely grasp-less and invisible moving target? You know what to do. Don’t talk to your wife. Do everything for yourself. Keep your kids at arms length. Hate your job and let everyone know it. Sneer at reading directions. Be careless with your laundry. Be careless with people when they come over.

Yes, do these kinds of things and CONGRATULATIONS! you have inherited…nothing.

Your life will be a wide-open expanse of air. Empty. If you purpose to please yourself, you will lose everything.

Make your household into a tree of life. Don’t be so foolish that you don’t even know you are serving the wise of heart. Pay attention. Be about the calling, the capture, and the care of souls.
